Terms of use

The rules of Mamluk, and what you and we owe each other.

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Agreeing to these terms

Mamluk, its website and its launcher are provided by DarAlIlm Studio, in Ireland ("we"). By creating an account or playing, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not play.

You must be at least 7 to play. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must give permission, accept these terms for you, and should set up the account with you using their own email address. The Privacy policy says what we keep about you.

Your account

  • An account needs a real email address that you can read. The game opens once you have confirmed it.
  • An account can hold up to four heroes. You can delete a hero from the game's menu, and you cannot get it back afterwards.
  • Keep your password to yourself. What is done with your account is your responsibility, unless someone took it from you through no fault of yours.
  • Do not sell, trade, or give away your account.

Rules of the world

  • Do not use cheats, bots, or anything else that plays for you or changes how the game works.
  • Do not make use of faults in the game. Report them instead.
  • Do not sell items, gold or heroes for real money.
  • Do not harass, threaten or abuse other players, or spread hatred against anyone.
  • Do not pretend to be us or another player, and choose a hero name that is fit for all to read.
  • Do not try to break into, overload or disrupt the game, the website or the accounts of others.

If the rules are broken

We may warn you, change a hero's name, remove what was gained unfairly, or suspend or close the account, depending on what happened. If you think we got it wrong, write to us.

The game

Playing Mamluk costs nothing, and nothing in it is sold for money. If that changes, these terms will change first.

We give you a personal right to install the game and play it for your own enjoyment. Get it only from this website. Each time it runs, the launcher looks for a new version and installs it. You may not copy, sell or rework the game or its art, music and writing, or take the game apart, except where the law allows you to.

Heroes, items and everything else in the world are part of the game. They are yours to play with, but they are not your property and have no value in money.

What you write yourself stays yours, such as chat and problem reports. You allow us to carry it, show it to other players where it is meant for them, and use it to run the game and put problems right.

A world that changes

Mamluk will change. We may add, alter or remove anything in it, take it offline, or end it. We may also have to restore the world to an earlier day or start it over, and heroes and progress may be lost when that happens. We keep backups and will give notice in the News where we can, but we do not promise that any progress will be restored.

Leaving

You can stop playing at any time, and you can ask us to erase your account, as the Privacy policy explains.

Our responsibility

Mamluk is given as it is, without any promise that it will always be available, free of faults, or suited to your computer. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, or for any indirect loss that comes from playing or being unable to play.

Nothing here takes away a right that the law of your country does not allow to be taken away.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland decide any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the European Union, you keep the protections of your own country's law and may also bring a claim in its courts.

If these terms change

The date at the top will change with them, and we will say so in the News if the change matters. If you go on playing after that, you accept the new terms.
